Naidu calls for public participation in ‘Partners in Nation Building’ programme

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has called for active participation of officials, employees and citizens in the “Partners in Nation Building” initiative, saying effective public services and collective responsibility would contribute to achieving the goals of Viksit Bharat and Swarna Andhra.

The programme, proposed to be launched on August 15 to mark the Independence Day, aims at involving every citizen in nation building and create awareness about the responsibility of contributing to the country’s development.

Reviewing the performance of various departments from the Real-Time Governance Society (RTGS) at the Secretariat here on Tuesday, Mr. Naidu said every government employee and official should consider nation-building a responsibility and take the initiative to the people.

He directed officials to launch a statewide “Road Doctor” zero-pothole mission to ensure that damaged roads and potholes are repaired immediately. Pilot efforts were already under way at some locations and should be expanded across the State, he said.

The Chief Minister said public participation could be strengthened when the government delivered visible results and communicated facts effectively. The response to the inauguration of the Bhogapuram airport was an example of people supporting government initiatives when they saw positive outcomes, he said.

Similarly, the DSC-2025 teachers’ initiative in Kurnool demonstrated that people could support the government when facts and achievements were communicated clearly, Mr. Naidu said.

Mr. Naidu stressed that improving the delivery of government services would itself constitute a contribution to nation-building. He called for wider public awareness of the Partners in Nation Building programme and urged officials to ensure that citizens were actively involved in its implementation.

Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad and senior officials from various departments participated in the review meeting.
