A SpiceJet flight operating from Delhi to Pune was stopped before take-off after passengers complained about the unbearable heat inside the cabin.

With children and elderly passengers onboard, the heat became so intense that some even struggled to breathe, eventually leading to a protest on the tarmac.

The incident was narrated by an X user, who said the flight had passengers of different age groups. After boarding at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, the flight’s cabin temperature began rising sharply, leaving people increasingly uncomfortable.

The post detailed how the heat became unbearable, with passengers sweating heavily and some experiencing difficulty breathing. Despite the situation, the aircraft was taken to the runway.

That was when passengers refused to let the flight depart. According to the post, they raised objections over the conditions inside the aircraft, leading to a confrontation with the crew.

The user claimed that the captain and others shouted back and threatened to call the police. Meanwhile, the situation took another turn when a fault with the aircraft was eventually discovered.

The post criticised the airline over poor service and said that passengers’ safety had been put at risk. It also shared that, frustrated by the situation, passengers staged a sit-in protest on the airport tarmac.
