Union Minister of Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal will formally inaugurate the ‘Utkarsha Mahotsava 2026,’ hosted by the National Sanskrit University (NSU) in Tirupati on Wednesday (August 19, 2026).
The Tirupati-based NSU, Lal Bahadur Shahstri National Sanskrit University (LBSNSU) and Central Sanskrit University (CSU) in New Delhi, are the only central universities in the country that deal exclusively in Sanskrit studies.
’Utkarsha Mahotsava’ is the annual event hosted on a rotating basis by three prestigious institutions, where students have the opportunity to showcase their talent. NSU hosted the event three years ago and is now preparing with renewed vigor to prove its mettle in this second chance, a statement said.
As many as 75 books published during the last three months will be released during the occasion, which is a first of its kind event. Similarly, a Sanskrit speech-to-text mobile app developed in-house will also be unveiled,” announced Vice-Chancellor Prof. G.S.R. Krishnamurthi at a media conference here on Wednesday (August 18).
Prominent among the invitees are Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC Bengaluru) Executive Director S.D. Sudarsan, Vice-Chancellors Prof. Shrinivasa Varakhedi (CSU) and Prof. Murlimanohar Pathak (LBSNSU).
