As part of the 80th Independence Day celebrations, BSNL is offering mobile customers in the Kodagu region a free 4G SIM for new connections, providing unlimited calls to any network, 1 GB of high-speed data, and 100 SMS per day for 24 days, with a first recharge of ₹1.

A statement issued by Kodagu Telecom District Manager B. Unnikrishnan on Thursday said mobile customers can switch to BSNL free of cost through Mobile Number Portability (MNP), without changing their mobile number, by approaching the nearest Customer Service Centre or retailer. New SIMs can also be booked through the BSNL Self Care App or on WhatsApp at 1800-4444, he said.

All BSNL mobile customers can now enjoy over a thousand live channels, movies, web series, music, devotional songs and other services free of cost through the BSNL Self Care App.

As a special offer, the Telecom District Manager said, the validity of the ₹2,399 BSNL recharge plan has been extended to 412 days, offering unlimited calls, 2 GB of data per day, and 100 SMS per day.

Seamless connectivity

BSNL’s indigenously developed 4G network provides high-speed data connectivity and excellent voice clarity. With 47 Digital Bharat Nidhi 4G towers, BSNL Kodagu has extended 4G connectivity to villages not covered by other mobile operators. More than 196 mobile towers across the district provide seamless connectivity, covering all inhabited villages, the statement said.

FTTH

BSNL Kodagu has also rolled out high-speed Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) services in all gram panchayats, offering unlimited voice calls, high-speed unlimited data, and Wi-Fi at affordable rates. Customers can book FTTH connections on WhatsApp at 1800-4444 or by calling 08272-223800.

Under the Independence Day offer, new customers opting for the ₹499 plan will get one month of free service, along with ₹100 off on each of the next three monthly bills. The ₹499 plan offers 60 Mbps unlimited data and unlimited calls to any network, the statement said.

BSNL Kodagu is also planning free Wi-Fi roaming access at major railway stations, taluk headquarters, bus stands, hospitals and other busy public areas, it added.
