District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore on Monday directed officials to ensure quality and permanent resolution of grievances received through the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS).
Reviewing the PGRS at the Collectorate, Mr. Kishore spoke directly to several complainants over the phone to ascertain whether their grievances had been properly addressed. He directed Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation officials to immediately resolve a woman’s complaint relating to a house site.
He asked officials to identify the root cause of complaints, conduct pre-audit and post-audit processes properly, and ensure that grievances were not reopened. He also directed departments to upload petitions received directly at their offices on the PGRS portal to improve transparency and accountability.
The Collector called for special attention to complaints concerning TIDCO housing, medical services, and registration services. A total of 291 petitions were received, including 64 related to GVMC, 22 to Revenue, and 20 to the Police Department.
